Phoenix , Arizona in January

Just in case you do not know, we did make it to Phoenix last week in spite of the weather. David serves as an appointed member of the National Cattlemen Beef Board representing Dairy. The convention was held in Phoenix and David had many meetings to attend, while I on the other hand was free to roam at will.

The picture below was taken at the Trade Show. A man and woman built all of these sand sculptures on site. It was truly amazing.

The sign below was the theme of the convention.

These sculptured cows below were on the beach....so detailed and funny.
The one close to the front of the picture had a sign : "Heifers Gone Wild".

I had the privilege of spending some time with Shantel who is Hada Tucker's granddaughter.
She has two beautiful little girls and they are so sweet, just like their Momma. We had lunch at an authentic Mexican Restaurant.

This pot of flowers/plants were out in front of the hotel. It just fascinates me to leave ice covered ground and dormant trees to go to a place with flowers growing everywhere. The Palm trees were beautiful too, but I failed to take a picture.

The buildings were enormously tall, but this one captured my attention. If you can see at the top of the building in the middle, there are men painting this tall building with famous people. I don't know the name of the one already painted, but Christine did...she said he carried a flag in the Olympics. The painting appears only about one third completed.....amazing...How would you like to paint those walls? It was really tall, at least 18 levels or more.

Christine is a young friend from our church now living in Phoenix. She is a busy young lady, but took time to spend with me one morning. We had a great visit at Starbuck's. I have know Chistine since she was born and I worked with her mother many years ago.

The view from the hotel room.....tall buildings and taller buildings.

Great trip and we were fortunate to make it out of Oklahoma to go, but I was just as anxious to get home as I was to go....Ahh......Home Sweet Home!
