'Nuff said..........
The boys spent the night a few days ago. They came from home bathed and ready for bed. I went to check on them and found them seriously into reading. Josh is an excellent reader--he uses expression and proper inflection in reading aloud. Andrew enjoys it!
This is our dear friend Hada, who went to be with the Lord, August 13, 2008. I was blessed to be able to be with Hada and Barb in the hospital throughout the night and into the morning of his home going to be with the Lord. Hada was a very strong and courageous man. He faced his cancer and the dying process with faith, strength, and courage to the end. Hada loved the Lord, his wife Barb, family, friends, ranch, music, and life! He always had a mile wide smile. He was friendly, loving, fun, and wise. He has left a legacy in so many ways, but I will always cherish his music. He was a gifted singer with a love for music. He had the voice of Marty Robbins and sang many of Robbins' songs. Hada attended the annual Marty Robbins tribute and was invited to sing at those events at least two years that I know of, maybe more. He recorded several vocal CD's in his life time. Hada was excellent singing Country and Western, but his gospel singing always touched me deeply. He will be missed. We love and miss you, Hada. We were so blessed to have you walk into the path of our lives. We cherish the memories.
Andrew started to Head Start this past Wednesday and he seems to love it. But, by Friday he was tired. As soon as he got home he grabbed a blanket and headed for the recliner to watch a cartoon.
Beautiful Blue Eyes!
Both kids showed me several of their acrobatics.....I used to be able to stand on my head too! I was not about to get into that competition. I now know my physical limitations..........getting old is tough...I hurt my knee just getting down in the floor one to many times. But, hey--I did beat both of them in a game or two of checkers.
I feel like I have been attacked by the Jolly Green Giant. Do you believe how big these okras are?
The plants were so bushy that we had to cut the lower leaves off just to be able to get to them.
It is hard to see it in the pictures, but some of them are a foot or two taller than I am. I have to stretch my arms all the way up and bend the big old stalks over just to reach the okra to cut them.
The pictures definitely do not do the plants justice. I have never seen anything like it. The variety is "Star of David". The pods of okra are tender and taste good, but they are so big.
Actually, the boys have been taking swimming lessons the past two weeks.
