Welcomed Home

We left this behind in San Antonio,

 and, this Riverwalk view.

Then, we came home to this view.

You know what?  Home looks good, no matter
where you have been, or what the weather
presents to us.

These icicles are something to see.

Jesus Loves Me

Most every child sang this song at one time or another,
and adults often request to sing it and they love it too.
I just received this via e-mail.  I like to give credit to the writer, and
one is suppose to always do that, but there was no name listed.
Here is a new version just for us who have white hair or no hair at all. For us over middle age (or even those almost there) and all you others, check out this newest version of Jesus Loves Me.
JESUS LOVES ME
Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.
(CHORUS)
YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME..
YES, JESUS LOVES ME, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.
(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song..
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."
(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love.
(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?

Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.
(CHORUS)

My Hero

My hard working guy cleans up "good".
Isn't he cute?

I could say so much here, but I wouldn't know where
to start or when to stop.  Let me just say this,
he really is my hero.
This subject may be expanded later.

Awkward!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, the awkward turtle is a hand gesture used to signal an awkward moment in a conversation or interaction with someone. The hope is that its use will cause a twitter of laughter throughout the group, therefore diffusing the awkwardness and restarting the conversation. It can also be used as a silent signal of awkwardness, unseen to the origin of the awkwardness. Someone has been kind enough to demonstrate the awkward turtle on YouTube:

For my kids and grandkids, I am trying to keep up with the times.....LOL!  I guess this has been popular with teens recently, but I have seen a couple of commercials lately using the word "awkward", and it just cracks me up.  I know I am a bit warped for an old lady.

Beautiful Christian

Yesterday I received a really special email from my life long friend Alice.
The message in this poem really spoke to me, and I want to share it with you this morning in hopes it will speak to you, as well. I don't know who wrote it, so I can't give due credit. If any of you know the author, please let me know and I will add it.
When I say that I am a Christian, I am not shouting that I am clean living.
I'm whispering, I was lost, but now I am found and forgiven.

When I say I am a Christian, I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say I am a Christian I am not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say I am a Christian, I am not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say I am a Christian, I am not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say I am a Christian, I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say I am a Christian, I am not holier than thou.
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

Gracie the Acrobat

Gracie emailed and she is quite anxious for me
to post this video of her. I posted three times since last night and
I just had not made it to this one yet.

Sorry Gracie...here you go. You are great with acrobatics.
I so enjoyed the Christmas visit.

A Little Bit of Christmas

A glimpse of the dairy farm---cold, blowing wind, rain, sleet, and snow makes for a dreary day.  These are cloudy pictures, but "real" in the kind of day it was.....cloudy!  The cows must be fed and watered daily, but especially in inclement weather.  Some adjectives according to Webster's for inclement = rough; severe; stormy; lacking mercy or leniency; HARSH---yes, yes, that about says it...it was just that.  Oh, but we had bright spirits and cheerfully excited grandchildren arriving shortly.  The weather really could have been worse and it has been in the past....AND now, Mooving On!

This is our house in the background, and the foreground is part of the dairy farm.
I was waiting for the family from a far---in the warm house.

We shared a meal, and Josh read the Christmas story
from the Bible for us.....a great way to start before
ripping into packages.

Andrew and Gillan cozily waited under an Afghan

Let the fun begin.....Josh showing his
new sweatshirt with an embroidered
Classic 1956 GMC Pickup Truck on it.
Yes, I did it myself...yeah me.

Andrew has a 1956 Ford Sunliner....those were the days.

Gillan is showing his sideways soft blanket
complete with name and a soccer ball.

And, Gracie got a pajama clad pony on her blanket.

They received other gifts too, but I just had to
show these and this one below.
My Texas boy likes OSU stuff....yeah, GO Cowboys!
He has to compete with his "OU fan" cousin....sorry Kasey,
it is a competitive world.

And Nathan crawled up in Aunt Christy's lap and went fast a sleep.

Awe, and Rudy made a special treat...and he did it
by himself-----he made the now famous blogger, Pioneer Woman's
recipe for:

BBQ JALAPENO POPPERS
Yum, Yum!!

Texas Grandkids Find Snow

Gillan and Gracie were thrilled to find "real snow".
They really have only seen a slight dusting of snow
in their life time.
While this was not a deep snow, it was snow and ground cover...
and a White Christmas!
Christmas Day the snow was powdery and would not
even make a snowball, but oh, Saturday was great and
away they all went....at least all most all of them.

Gracie and Gillan got right after the makings of a snowman.

Poor Andrew....look at those cold knees..
Does he need some coveralls? He didn't seem to
be bothered by the cold.

Some planning was going on here. Andrew was
trying to convey something about the things they
needed to complete the snowman....this shot was
taken from inside the house.

I don't know who found the bubble blower pipe,
but Gillan was the first to pose with it. They
used it for Frosty.

"Why can't I go out there too?"

Wow, Frosty is looking cool now.
Gillan and Josh are quite proud of the final results.
OSU cap and all!

"I really want to go out there!"

And Gillan finishes up with a snowball fight with Frosty.
