I had a little brain storm the other day.
For a long time our white vinyl fence has
been in need of cleaning. Mold seems to
cling to the fence due to the trees nearby.
It is very unsightly and I thought it might
be impossible to get off.
It came to me that the little boys need
to start learning to work some.
I told them I had a little chore I needed them to do.
I added that they might could even make a little money.
Much to my delight, they jumped at the chance.
I gathered all the necessary items up
and checked to see how difficult the fence
would actually be to clean.
It wiped off fairly easy, so I got the boys working.
I was pleased with their digging in and
staying hooked to the task. The fence
looks brand new, and the boys were proud
of their work. It was a win-win situation.
They do have a little more to finish.
Since they were paid for the areas they completed,
they now have incentive to complete the task.
I also praised their work, but pointed out areas
they missed and insisted they clean it all,
even the little areas.
Katie carried the lesson further by talking to them
able tithing and figuring the 10% of their earned
money to give in Sunday School for the Lord.
Good job boys!
Gillan and Gracie, there will always be chores here,
so you can get in on some of this fun too, if you would like to.You have helped with chores here before.
Fun, huh?
